I've been waiting patiently for this thread. I knew it wouldn't take long. Carol scares the hell out of me in this ep! In a good way? I mean, she's evil. And yet I kind of like her. Somehow, though evil, she's captivating. And of course Carol has some to do with that, but I really fell in love with her character! It always scares me when I can identify with or care for the villian. Like Miss Hannigan (when's that thread starting, btw)! Or The Phantom of the Opera (which has nothing to do with Carol, but my musicals are always relevant)!

I love when Carol was on Ellen and after they showed a clip (of her and Olivia right after Marv's death) she said she scared herself. But why did Birdie have to be dying?! That's salting the earth! She had a good thing going! LOL And much like in Annie and The Muppet Show, Carol pissed is always awesomely hilarious. BTW I'm pretty sure Marv writing poetry was a reference to Joe writing the lyrics for "This Time Together", especially since that's never mentioned again. What I really love about Carol's guest spots is that the show's people always know how big of a deal it is to have her on and fittingly make room.

And her, "We all do what we have to." That gives me the chills every damn time! And the whole romance between her and Chet... I'm not sure if I should applaud the fact that they made her a cougar even in the show or be sick to my stomach because, even though they weren't family, they were family. Having sex with someone you call your aunt? what kind of game is that?! I never caught the poetry thing.. I love how in awe of Carol the whole cast was <3

The first time I watched the episode I couldn't decide if I was MORE in love with her or if I was terrified of her. She's so evil but you almost sympathize with her in a way. Her romance with Chet is just weird because like Liv said, they're family, but they aren't. Also, I was really weirded out by his 'stache and the fact that he played Shaggy in the people version of "Scooby Doo" so...

I kept waiting for Chet to say, "Zoinks!" or, "Like, HEEEEELLLPP!"

Props to him for being so awesome opposite Carol (and Mariska too).

He really was good opposite Carol, I'm not gonna lie. I honestly thought he was gonna freak out and kill Birdie at one point. His character seems really unstable under pressure and I really didn't know what he was going to do next.

That part at the end where Birdie says she wished she and Chet could be together one last time and Chet looks towards the door...

The scenes where they keep going back and forth between Birdie's and Chet's stories is totally awesome. With the camera angles, the constant movement, everything made it so intense. It was beautifully done. I made my family watch the episode with me and that was their favorite part.

And the fact that Birdie was interrogated by Stabler pretty much constituted a "Duelling Blue Eyes" thing.
