So, THIS FRIGGIN ROCKED!!! I FANGIRLED THE WHOLE TIME Plus, Hawaii 5-0 is a pretty good show anyway. What killed me was the fact that her character was dying. DO THEY ENJOY SEEING US CAROLERS FALL APART?! And the whole Marijuana thing, GOLD! I wonder if Carol has ever smoked pot? Thoughts?

I mean, I knew Deb's secret was gonna be huge, but... Excuse me. And OK, I made a mistake in thinking she was Steve's maternal rather than paternal aunt. (She looks enough like Christine Lahti for that to be possible. So sue me.) But even so, that would still mean her character's supposed to be in her sixties Even better: Carol Burnett is a McGarrett! (Even though she raised Pennsatucky...) And she wasn't in every scene or anything but I'm glad they appropriately made room for her. And I'm sorry, in all those scenes she was so stunningly gorgeous that inside I felt like breaking down and crying at her beauty. And poor Steve! (Sorry Steve.)

It was so good! She looks better with each passing year, not older or worse! How does she do that? I've often said how she and my maternal grandmother are almost the same age (few months difference) but Carol looks 10 years younger!! She's amazing! I hate that YET AGAIN her character had to have an inoperable brain tumor. What's with that anyway? That destroyed me. Her character was equal parts sweet and sassy. I loved it. And then she sang and I died.

I basically started crying the minute she came on. Lemme just say that she looked GORGEOUS! I was trying to watch her, fangirl, and read all the Carollers' tumblr posts at the same time and it was just all too exciting. When she sang I just lost it.

You know, the more and more I think about it, the inclusion of the brain tumor in the story might actually be a stroke of genius. Why, you ask?
Well, because this is the same show that saw Ed Asner guest star as the same character he played in the original Five-O (as a smuggler who frames McGarrett for theft. I just saw it not too long ago), and also remade the famous "Hookman" episode from the original series, with the title character/villain played by none other than Robocop himself, Peter Weller.
And why not? From the perspective of the writers, it makes a lot of sense. Remember how crazy "Ballerina" actually was? Especially to a first-time viewer? Nobody would've seen the ending to that coming AT ALL. I think if there were a set of rules determining what went into a Carol guest shot, SVU broke a lot of them. Like the 1999 version of Annie, they banked on its viewers having already seen what came before, probably knowing about what happened in "Ballerina", and, thinking we wouldn't expect to see it again, put it in.
Parallels, my friends. Parallels.

I haven't been on here in a while so I'm trying to catch up with everything...I absolutely LOVED this episode. It made me sad that they had to have her be dying, but Chick makes a good point. SVU broke lots of barriers with her guesting on any show. So I get why they did it.
I'd also like to point out that she sang one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite musicals of all time. And my dad told me to stop jumping on the couch because I was so excited. But that's not really out of ordinary in my house...
