Now, I dearly loved this book. One word. Carrie. Who knew she was so talented. I really wish she'd been able to finish Sunrise in Memphis, it would have been a bestseller. She was a talent in her own right. Even if she wasn't "born into fame", she still could have became a star. This one was the one I cried in. The worst part was, I finished it on a bus, sitting by my semi-Caroler choir teacher, Mrs. Taylor. She had no clue what was wrong with me, I was crying, but I'd just made all-region. I guess she figured it out, because she now has read Carrie and Me.

I finished this book in about 3 1/2 hours. It was so heartbreaking, yet I couldn't put it down. My grandpa had the same cancer Carrie did, and after finishing it, I just wanted to give Carol a hug. The way she wrote about Carrie was so beautiful. I can't even imagine what she went through when Carrie passed away and what it was like having to relive everything to write. I feel like I personally knew Carrie after reading it. Carol raised an amazing person and the world was blessed to have Carrie, even for the short amount of time we did have her. <3
